Finally the latest version of Apple iTunes 8 has already been released on October 2008. The current version is 8.0.1.11. Although several versions had already been released in the past were it enabled many new features for clients to be able to watch movies, download podcasts, and able to get recommendations for future purchases, the latest version features an even more powerful feature – the Genius feature. Other new features that makes it even more potent is the improved grid layout and the new looking visualizer making it truly an ingenious software application.
Genius
The Genius feature is the focal point on what iTunes 8 is all about. Under the Genius feature it has two semblances – the Genius Playlist and the Genius Sidebar. So what exactly can it do to your playlist? When you decide to activate it, it analyzes your data based on the music you played and anonymously transmits it to Apple’s servers. It will be analyzed and fed into a computer algorithm that would result on giving you a recommendation of about 50 to 100 songs you want to listen. Need not worry, as you can have the option to delete, re-order and reshuffle songs to create another playlist that suite you better.

The Jack to the Genius Playlist Jill is the Genius Sidebar. It does a great job saving a lot of time wasted on searching for missing songs or albums on a library. Because it sends information on the currently played song to iTunes Store and returns it by recommending songs or albums he feels that is missing in the library. In essence, it recommends songs to similar album or albums of similar artist that might be missing.

Of course, the iTunes 8 is an enhanced version were it is friendly not just to MAC but PC users too. Who could ever forget the improved High Definition Television shows where you can purchase it at $2.99 for visually nice streaming of movies and added pleasure. Much more, it is ready to be played for your iPod too. The improved visualizer is a welcome addition where no more slow motions can be seen but a perfect 3D-scape of spheres, ribbons, lights, and tempos. Definitely this is worth upgrading for!
