Kris Saelen Still have a few gifts left on your Christmas list for 2008? If they’re gifts for music lovers, here’s a look at the top MP3 players of 2008 from various sources. After looking at a lot of different lists and seeing the different opinions, you should be able to find the perfect MP3 player for that special someone on your list.
PC World had a Top 10 MP3 Players (Flash-based) last month that’s pretty interesting. The Apple iPod is still on the list, of course, but there are a lot of new players in the market that are moving up the ranks quickly. On the top of their list for 2008 is the Zen X-Fi.
TopTenReviews has a graphically pleasing look at their top MP3 player picks. Here, the Apple iPod is king, taking up the #1 and the #2 spots of the top ten.
The ever interesting CNET Reviews has their top 5 MP3 Players. Here the iPod again takes the first and second spots.
The anythingbutipod blog also went with a top 5 MP3 Players of 2008 list. If you didn’t guess by the name of the blog, the iPod didn’t make the list here.
The lists above were compiled late this year. The infoSync World website has the Best MP3 players of CES 2008 which came out in January of this year.
Here’s the thing with any top 5 or top 10 lists – they’re compiled by someone else. If you can keep that in mind, they’re still a good way to learn a lot about a lot of different MP3 players really quickly. Think of it as an MP3 player crash course or super intense study session.
At the end of it, you should have a good idea of what MP3 players the people are liking the most. Armed with that knowledge, you just have to add in your personal tastes and you’re sure to get a MP3 player that will rock your socks off.
