CNET has a good video review of the SanDisk Sansa Shaker Digital MP3 Player on their website. The SanDisk Sansa is a large (when compared to some of the smaller MP3 players out there) unit designed to be kid and family friendly. This goes beyond just the size and shape of the MP3 player.
The SanDisk Sansa Shaker has a lot of features that make it cool and fun for kids of all ages. For example, to switch songs, you pick up the unit and shake it, which causes it to move to the next song. With an SD memory card slot, it’s easy to fill the MP3 player with music that the whole family loves.

- Unique design and user interface – i.e. the shaking.
- No LCD screen
SanDisk Sansa Shaker Cons
- No rechargeable batteries – while it doesn’t come with rechargeable batteries, the unit runs off of 1 AAA Battery, which makes it relatively cheap to keep the music going.
- Only plays MP3 formatted songs – While most MP3 players these days also handle other types of audio files, the SanDisk Sansa Shaker will only handle songs in MP3 format. With ways to transfer your music to MP3 files, though, this isn’t that big of a problem.

There are a lot of options out there for people who are looking for an MP3 player, but this is one that will appeal to families with children who want to get them involved in music. The SanDisk Sansa Shaker isn’t for everyone, but it fills a gap left by other MP3 player manufacturers. It’s a little surprising that the player came from a company that is primarily known for memory cards, but don’t let that stop you from checking out this cheap and high in entertainment value MP3 player the whole family can enjoy.
