The Samsung YP-Q1 MP3 player is the latest “diamond MP3 players” by Samsung, known for electronics for a long time. The players got their nickname from the diamond shape of the touchpad on the bottom of the slick units. The 2.4″ color display has a resolution of 320×240 and a frame rate of 30fps – all that makes the pictures and video really come to life.
The unit is available in Black, White or Silver and with 4GB, 8GB or a whopping 16GB of memory. All the units support the following music formats: MP3 / WMA WMV / SVI (MPEG4) JPG / BMP / PNG / GIF TXT Ogg / FLAC (UMS Version Only).
While this is a UK player, you can pick up the Samsung YP-Q1 MP3 Player on eBay if you want to have something different than all the iPods you see everywhere. That said, in some areas the unit may not connect to iBBC, which would let you stream BBC content to the unit if you were in the country.
That said, sometimes you want something a little different or unique and the Samsung YP-Q1 MP3 Player fits that bill nicely. And it will still play all your music and video files.
If you’re willing to give up on some of the UK-specific features of this MP3 player, it’s a good option for someone looking for something a little different than what everyone else has.
Hmmm. That’s interesting to me. Maybe I should start a series on lesser known MP3 players that still hit home runs out of the park. If you’re interested in that idea, or have a great lesser known MP3 player that you just have to tell someone about, please leave a comment below.
