The Philips GoGear SA2825 (2GB) (see CNET Review) is an entry level MP3 player with a great, unique design. You don’t get a lot of options – well, no options really. The $49 player comes in one color and one size – 2GB. That said, it’s not a bad little player if you don’t want to spend a lot of money.
The buttons are built into the sides of the small player – with each side of the player controlling a different function. This is a really good design that was borrowed from another MP3 player.
On the negative side, the screen is a little difficult to see from angles – you have to be looking at it dead on to see the screen clearly. For the price, though, you can’t really complain – especially with as small as it is and the ability to store 2GB of music. It might not hold your whole music collection, but you’re sure to be able to fit hours and hours of music on it.
Philips GoGear SA2825 Quick Stats:
- Dimensions: 1.6 in x 0.6 in x 1.6 in
- Supported Audio Formats: MP3, WAV, WMA, ADPCM
- Screen: ” backlit OLED with 128 x 64 pixel resolution
As I said, this MP3 player doesn’t have a lot of features (including access to subscription music), but it does the basics and it does them rather stylishly. If you’re looking for an MP3 player that won’t leave you broke, the Philips GoGear SA2825 (2GB) should be on the top of your list.
