Chestnut Hill Sound George iPod Speakers

The Chestnut Hill Sound George iPod Speakers (see CNET Review or Product Page) are great sounding speakers for your Apple iPod, but be prepared to pay the money to get the quality. The GEORGE speakers from Chestnut Hill also come with other features that make them worth the money, though. From a wireless remote (that some say is easier to use than the regular iPod music interface) to an AM/FM radio player, these iPod speakers will make your iPod even more useful at home or in your office. It should be noted that the low end (bass) on the speakers isn’t as good as it might be or if you’re used to having sub-woofers.

The coolest feature about these speakers is that the front panel (the controls) come off so that you can take them with you – working as a wireless remote. No more do you have to worry about a cheapy remote coming with iPod speakers. The amount of control you have, no matter where you go in the house, almost makes the speakers worth the money. There are other features, though.

The music sounds good (except for the low bass, as mentioned above.) The speakers weigh 10 pounds and measure 4.5″ x 14.1″ x 8.6″. They have a polished look that won’t look garish next to your actual Apple iPod. I think it was a conscious decision to try to style the speakers in an ‘iPod’ style. It was a good call.

Overall, the speakers are a little pricey, and you should avoid them if you’re looking for deep, rich bass, but they’re not a bad purchase if you’re looking for a set of speakers that will compliment your iPod well.
