The Sony EX MDR-EX36V headphones for MP3 players (see CNET Review) are most likely better than any stock ear buds or headphones that came with an MP3 player you bought, but they’re not top of the line. If you’re wanting to get something better than what came with your MP3 player, though, this is a inexpensive choice that will give you better audio from whatever MP3 player you own.

While you do get to pick from four color accents, there’s not much to the design of the  Sony EX MDR-EX36V headphones. Perhaps this is why they’re so inexpensive, but while they may look or feel a little flimsy, the sound quality is there. Unless you’ve got a perfect ear for music, you’re going to be more than happy with the sound quality.

With a retracting cable for the cords, these headphones from Sony have some little features and extras you usually only find on headphones or earbuds costing a lot more money.

Whether it’s because you want something more comfortable for your ears or something that sounds a little better, spending a little more on good earbuds or headphones when you buy a new MP3 player is a great idea. It’s not something everyone thinks about – especially if you’ve plunked down a lot of money on the MP3 player itself – but spending a little more on good headphones will make your music enjoyment so much better that it’s worth any hassle or cost.

Overall, the  Sony EX MDR-EX36V Headphones are a good bet if you’re not looking to spend a lot of money but still want decent sounding headphones.
