Coby MP836 Video MP3 Player

The Coby MP836 Video MP3 Player (see Official Page) is very extensible and has a very sleek look. Did I mention it also has a touch screen? Yes, Coby follows a lot of other MP3 player designers with a nice touch screen Video MP3 player. Not everyone loved this offering from Coby at CES, but have a look yourself.

There’s a giant 3″ widescreen LCD that shows vibrant colors. It comes in 4GB, 8GB, and 16GB sizes. It takes microSD memory cards, though, so storage is pretty much endless if you can shell out money for memory cards. (And they’re getting cheaper and cheaper all the time…)

The player comes with other things like integrated FM radio, USB 2.0 Hi-Speed for fast file transfers and an integrated rechargeable battery. The good news is that all these features won’t cost you an arm and a leg. It will cost you one or the other, but not both. (Just kidding. Smile.)

Seriously, though, Coby’s MP836 Video MP3 Player looks to be a hit, with a great screen, a touch screen, decent memory, expandability, and a great design. Not everyone is in love with the design, but as with a lot of things in life, design is a very subjective thing. There was a lot of negative buzz at the Coby booth at CES, but you should give it a look yourself before you pass judgement.
