Samsung P3 Performs Well for the Price

black_largeThe Samsung P3 (see CNET Review) is a great looking multimedia machine packed with features and a great, colorful screen. Yes, it’s a touch screen, which increases the ‘cool value’ a lot.

The Samsung P3 has learned a lot from the Samsung P2, meaning that Samsung has listened to user feedback and made a better product. The price is a little better, too. (What’s not to like, huh? Well, there are some small things.)

The latest portable multimedia player from Samsung comes in 8GB, 16GB, and 32GB versions. At the price, it comes with a lot of features you might not expect.

Samsung P3 Quick Stats:

  • Dimensions: 4″ x  0.3″ x 2″  (just a little smaller than the P2)
  • Screen: 3″ 480 x 272 pixel WQVGA
  • Weight: 96g
  • Media Formats: MP3, WMA, OGG, WAV, AAC, FLAC, JPEG, Bitmap, PNG, SWF, WMV, H.264, MPEG

If you try to compare the Samsung P3 to the iPod Touch from Apple or another fancy schmancy MP3 player with a touch screen, the Samsung P3 might not match up. However, you really have to take the price into account.

At the price, the feature set is a lot better than other mp3 players in the same price range. If you’re looking from a great (and stylish) touch screen MP3 player that does video too, the Samsung P3 should be on your list to check out.

There’s no built-in WiFi capability, but if you don’t need that from your MP3 player, you’re not really going to miss it. For the price, the Samsung P3 really can’t be beat.

If you have the Samsung P3, we’d love to hear your opinion. Leave a comment below and let us know what you think about this MP3 player or how it compares to the Samsung P2. We want to know what YOU think!

Until next time, keep tap-tap-tapping that screen.
