The Memorex TouchMP MMP9490 (see CNET Review or official Memorex TouchMP page) is a great little MP3 player with a touch screen. It’s a little on the basic side, but it works and isn’t very expensive at all.
Back to the touch screen on the Memorex TouchMP (because it does have the word touch in the name…) Anyway, as mentioned, the interface is a little simple, but this isn’t necessarily a bad thing for this MP3 player. Not every mp3 player has to be an Apple iPod Touch, ya know? Sometimes some people like simple and this might be just the touch screen for them. It’s not going to be for everyone, but that’s okay.
Memorex TouchMP Quick Stats:
- Dimensions: 2.47″ x 0.42″ x 3.76″
- Screen: 2.8″ QVGA color display with touch screen LCD
- Memory: 8GB and 16GB versions
- External Memory: Micro SD card support (up to 8GB SDHC)
- Media Formats: Plays video (MPEG4, WMV, AVI), audio (MP3, WMA), and photos (JPEG)
Overall, this is a decent entry level touch screen MP3 player with a reasonable amount of storage for all your music. It doesn’t do everything that some other MP3 players can do, but it does enough to make it a pretty decent value for your money. And when you’re dealing with a brand you can trust. When it comes to MP3 players sometimes, this is really important.
If you have the Memorex TouchMP, we’d love to hear from you. Leave a comment and let us know what you thought about this small touch screen mp3 player – whether it’s good or bad. The more you interact with the site, the more useful it’s going to be for other people. The more useful it is, the more people who will start stopping by and … before you know it, we could all be learning and sharing a lot!
Until next time, don’t touch your screen *too* much. Smile.

Man, I plug this piece of crap into a car usb, charge it, unplug it, and it never turns on for about 2 hours.
Again, plug it into PC, unplug it, it won’t turn on and my PC claims that it has “malfunctioned”.
Screw it, this is the second chineese electronic thats failed me.
(first on, LCD top-gun)
ummmm do you by chance know how to unlock it? I can’t figure it out and i lost my manule.
Push the on off button up briefly to the off position but don’t hold it down. It will unlock it.
