The Samsung Q2 (see CNET Review or Samsung official page) might seem basic to some, but that’s not a bad thing entirely. Even with a whopping 16GB of space and a beautiful screen, this mp3 player still doesn’t cost a lot of money.
There are downsides to this mp3 player, of course. From a distance it looks great, but on closer examination, you can see how they kept the price down (besides flash memory prices dropping.) It’s not horrible, though, and looks as if it will handle everyday use.
And the screen is really nice for this price level of mp3 player. Add to that the features you get, and it’s a really great value for your money, especially if you’re looking for a cheap second mp3 player or want to give one as a gift. It’s a budget mp3 player, that’s for sure, but in today’s day and age, that’s not such a bad thing, if you know what I mean.
Samsung Q2 Quick Stats:
- Dimensions: 1.93″ x 3.98″ x 0.39″
- Weight: 7.4 oz.
- Screen: 2.4″ TFT LCD QVGA (320 x 240 pixel resolution)
- Flash Memory (Internal): 16 GB
- Media Formats Supported: MP3 / WMA / Ogg / FLAC / WMV / MPEG4
- Features: Built in Mic. Voice Recording, Radio Tuner
This mp3 player doesn’t have everything that a lot of other mp3 players have, but they also don’t have this smoking low price point either. If you’re looking for an entry level mp3 player that doesn’t skimp on features or look to make up for a low price, the Samsung Q2 is for you.
If you have the Samsung Q2, we’d love to hear from you! Leave a comment below and let us know what you think of this mp3 player. Is it worth the price? Should it be cheaper? A good value for the money? Let us know what YOU think.

Nice little player.
The sound and video quality are suprisingly very high for a player at this price point. The ablity to recored and listen to the radio are also nice features. Excellent for someone who is not into all the tech stuff but would use a nice player and enjoy.
Con: Samsung should provide a better file manager tool. The tool is difficult to use and makes the player frustrating. So you end up working around the software to make the necessary updates to playlists, Pics and Video.
Overall: I would recommend folks take a good look at this one and see if it works for you. I am enjoying mine as I write this review.
I honestly like it. Sound is good and the menu is like a cell phone so it’s not too bad but I can understand ones frustration with it. I would have to say the only thing I do not like about it is the fact that it smudges real easily on the keypad and screen. For the price (I got a solid deal on mine) I have to say it was well worth it.
