The Samsung U5 – aka the Samsung YP-U5 – (see CNET Review or Samsung Official Page) is a super small mp3 player that still manages to pack a punch. While the screen is kinda tiny (ok, it’s *really* small) and this mp3 player only has 2GB, for the price and the brand, it’s not a bad buy. The little extras actually make it a pretty good buy (for the price) – from a decent voice recorder, to FM reception there are little things added that make it hard to hate this tiny offering from Samsung.
With a built in USB, it makes it easy to get your favorite music onto this player and even swap it out if you get tired of the same 2GB of music.
Samsung U5 Quick Stats:
- Dimensions: 2.61″ x 4.35″ x 1.49″
- Weight: 1.76 oz.
- Screen: 128 x 64 OLED
- Memory: 2 GB (Flash Memory)
- Microphone: Yes
- Speakers: No
- Supported Audio Formats: MP3, WMA, Ogg, FLAC
This is not the most powerful mp3 player on the market or even the smallest mp3 player available, but it’s a nice sub-compact with features that will have you happy. This little player from Samsung isn’t going to make everyone happy, but it’s going to be a hit for a lot of people.
If you’re into fitness and exercise and staying healthy, the size of this mp3 player is really going to be nice as you can wear it without even noticing it’s there. Add to that the ease of adding music to the player, and you have the perfect portable workout music to take with you wherever you go.
If you have a Samsung U5 (or five of them!) we’d love to hear from you. Leave a comment below and share your thoughts about this mp3 player. Is it TOO small? Too BIG? Just the right size? Let us know!
