There’s no question that the Shure brand has offered some of the best quality headphones in the past few years, and the new sound isolating SE530 model (see CNET review) is certainly no exception. The quality of sound coming from these earbuds is so incredible, it’s easy to convince yourself that you’re standing right in the center of the best concert of your life. Ever wonder exactly what The Kingsmen were singing about in “Louie Louie”?
Well, I’m still not sure I can tell you. But with these headphones, you just might be able to figure it out for yourself. Not to mention the nifty extra features like an airplane adapter and a nice variety of foam tips to ensure a comfortable and sound-tight fit. Two interchangeable extender cables for additional length mean that you have even more listening options at your easy disposable. The shiny chrome finish of the earbuds even almost makes up for their somewhat ungainly size.
Of course, this amazing quality and plethora of options comes at a price, and a pretty hefty one at that. With what can reach up to a $500 price tag, you have to be really, really dedicated to sound quality to be willing to shell out the bucks to get it. For people who are seriously into their music and have the cash to burn, these are pretty close to perfect. For my somewhat thinner wallet, I might keep looking around and just deal with the sub par sound quality.
